Planned properly before we cut

Concrete cutting goes wrong when it's treated as “just a few holes.”

Concrete cutting and core drilling go wrong when they're treated as “just a few holes” or “just a straight cut.” We check access, depth, reinforcement, services, dust, slurry, working hours and removal before the crew arrives — so the job doesn't slow the rest of the programme down.

  • 01 · AccessFloor level, lift, parking, working room — checked off the brief, not assumed.
  • 02 · Depth & materialSlab thickness, reinforcement density, substrate — picks the right method (core, floor saw, wall saw, wire, stitch).
  • 03 · ServicesScanning where the slab is live, post-tensioned or unknown. Marked up before the rig is set.
  • 04 · Slurry & dustWater managed and contained. HEPA extraction where wet isn't an option. No mess in the lobby.
  • 05 · Working hoursLive retail, occupied offices, hospitals — out-of-hours and permit windows planned in.
  • 06 · RemovalCores, cuts, spoil — bagged out, removed or stacked on site as agreed up front.

For a fast, accurate quote

What to put in the brief.

The more we know up front, the tighter the quote — and the fewer assumptions on the day. If you only have a phone photo and a postcode, that's still enough to start.

01
Site postcode

Tells us travel, parking and access route. First half is enough to start.

02
Drawings & photos

M&E drawings, RC details, set-out marks, phone photos — whatever you have.

03
Hole Ø, no. of cores, cut length

Diameters (mm), how many, and any total run for sawing — guess if unsure.

04
Depth / slab thickness

Slab or wall thickness, full or partial depth, breakthrough or blind.

Material & reinforcement

Reinforced concrete, brick, stone — and any rebar density or post-tension known.

06

07
Access & floor level

Stairs / lift / hoist, parking, working room, occupied or live areas.

08

FAQ

Common questions before you send the brief.

What is diamond drilling, and when do I need it?
Diamond drilling cuts clean, accurate, round holes through reinforced concrete, brick, stone and masonry — for service risers, ducting, drainage, anchors, dowel bars and core sampling. It's the right tool when a hammer drill or an SDS would crack the slab or leave a ragged opening. Typical sizes: small bores up to large-diameter penetrations.
Do you work outside the Midlands?
Day-to-day we're across Warwickshire, the West & East Midlands, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Nottingham. We travel UK-wide for the right job — London, Manchester and everywhere between. Send a postcode with the brief and we'll come back on travel.
How fast can you get on site?
Emergency call-outs can be on site in under 4 hours across the Midlands, subject to crew location — we'll tell you straight on the call. Same-week is common for planned work; next-day and out-of-hours by arrangement.
Do you scan before you drill?
When the slab is live, post-tensioned, or anywhere reinforcement, services or PT cables matter — yes. We scan, mark up, and only commit to the cut once the picture's clean. On open ground or sacrificial slabs we'll skip it where it's safe to.
Can you keep the dust and water under control?
Yes. We work wet by default — slurry contained, water managed, vacuumed and bagged out. Dry cuts with HEPA extraction where wet isn't an option (live retail, occupied offices, sensitive finishes). Slab handed back clean and signed off.
What do I need to send for a quote?
A drawing, sketch or phone photo plus a postcode is enough to start. The more we know — slab thickness, rebar density, access, timing, working hours — the tighter the price.
Do you do out-of-hours and weekend work?
Regularly. Live retail, hospitals, occupied offices and infrastructure jobs often need it. Tell us the window when you send the brief.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured. Cover details, limits and certificates available on request.
